Position Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates and treats residents with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders. The SLP provides therapy to improve speech, language, voice, and swallowing function to enhance residents’ quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.

Provide therapy for speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing disorders.

Document evaluations, progress notes, and outcomes.

Educate residents, families, and staff about communication and swallowing strategies.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated resident care.

Participate in care planning and discharge planning.
Qualifications:

Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of Rhode Island.

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.

Previous experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation preferred.

Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills.
