Duties
- Install, repair, and replace garage doors, openers, springs, cables, rollers, tracks, and hardware with efficiency and attention to detail
- Perform glass installation for windows or panels as needed for door systems
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to complete projects accurately
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure proper installation and alignment
- Conduct door hanging, frame carpentry, metal stud framing, and trim carpentry tasks for secure mounting
- Execute electrical wiring and fixture installation related to garage door openers or security features
- Engage in heavy lifting and physical labor required for construction site work or remodeling projects
- Apply locksmithing skills for lock installation or repairs on garage systems
- Utilize schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues effectively
- Perform caulking, sealing, or finishing work to ensure weather-tightness and aesthetic appeal
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to construction site protocols and using appropriate personal protective equipment
Skills
- Extensive experience with glass installation, metal framing, carpentry, and fixture setup
- Proficiency in welding, fabrication, electrical wiring, and schematic reading
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems related to garage doors including springs, cables, rollers, tracks, and openers
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, drills; power tools including saws and grinders
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina throughout the workday
- Construction site experience with remodeling or renovation projects is highly desirable
- Familiarity with blueprint reading for precise measurements and project planning
- Knowledge of locksmithing techniques for lock repairs or installations
- Experience in metal stud framing and trim carpentry for structural support or finishing touches
- Electrical experience related to wiring garage door openers or security systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret schematics and technical instructions
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members or clients
