Purpose: To ensure that Easterseals Central and Southeast Ohio’s facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly environment while performing routine building maintenance tasks. This position ensures facilities are well-maintained, functional, and presentable for employees, clients, and visitors and are incompliance with all accrediting, licensing, and safety standards.
Essential Function:
- Custodial Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the facility to ensure a welcoming, hygienic, and safe environment.

Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, hallways, and common areas.

Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces.

Clean windows, doors, and other building surfaces.

Empty trash containers and dispose of waste properly.

Replenish restrooms and cleaning supplies as needed.

Follow established cleaning schedules and safety procedures.

Collaborate with supervisor to monitor and order supplies as needed, ensuring that all necessary cleaning supplies are readily available.

Complete other necessary janitorial duties that may come up.

Light Maintenance Responsibilities:

Perform minor repairs, including, but not limited to replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and air filters; touch up paint; and other general upkeep tasks as needed.

Conduct routine inspections of building systems and report issues requiring repair.

Assist with seasonal maintenance such as snow removal, salting walkways, and grounds upkeep.

Maintain maintenance tools and equipment in good working order.
- Collaborate with supervisor to schedule minor and major repairs and coordinate with outside contractors when required.

Ensure all required building safety inspections, as dictated by licensing agencies, state, and federal regulations, are carried out in a timely manner.

Collaborate with supervisor to monitor and order maintenance materials as needed.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs and records that include, but not limited to documentation of repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experience preferred.

Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of janitorial procedures and general maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.

Skills:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and maintenance tools.
- Ability to use hand tools and perform minor repairs safely.

Strong attention to detail and reliability.
