Project Manager – Solar & Energy Storage Systems
Location: United States (25% travel required)
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to drive both product strategy and project execution for our solar and energy storage business in the U.S. market. This is a dual-function role combining product lifecycle ownership with hands-on project delivery, sitting at the intersection of engineering, sales, and operations.
Responsibilities
Product Management
- Analyze U.S. market trends, regulatory shifts (ITC/PTC), and competitor landscapes to define product vision and roadmap
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop technical specifications for PV modules, inverters, and Energy Storage Systems (ESS)
- Manage the full product lifecycle from concept through End-of-Life, including pricing strategy and ROI analysis
- Translate customer feedback and installer pain points into actionable product features and improvements
Project Management
- Oversee solar project timelines from initial design and permitting through interconnection and COD (Commercial Operation Date)
- Coordinate with EPC partners and local utilities to ensure smooth project execution
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery
- Ensure compliance with NEC, local AHJ requirements, and North American certifications
- Visit customer sites to build relationships, provide on-site resolution, and ensure customer satisfaction
Stakeholder Leadership
- Serve as the primary bridge between Sales, Engineering, Service, Finance, Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and external vendors
- Collaborate with R&D teams to track issues, drive process improvements, and enhance product support
- Present progress reports and product performance metrics to executive leadership
- Other tasks as assigned by Growatt leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Business (MBA or PMP certification preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in the solar or renewable energy industry with a proven track record in both product development and project management
- Familiarity with Helioscope, PVSyst, or AutoCAD; proficiency in Jira/Asana and CRM tools such as Salesforce
- Deep understanding of U.S. solar incentives, net metering policies, and interconnection processes
- Exceptional communication skills, high EQ, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-style environment
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Willingness to travel 25% of the time, including short-notice trips
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a strong plus
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
