Duties
- Assist with food preparation including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients for various menu items
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and food production appliances safely and efficiently
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures diligently to uphold cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination
- Support the culinary team in meal assembly and plating for both regular service and catering events
- Maintain the dishwashing station by cleaning utensils, cookware, and dishes promptly to ensure smooth kitchen flow
- Manage high-volume food production during peak hours while adhering to quality standards
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred, especially in fine dining or high-volume kitchens
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Demonstrated skills in food handling, safety management, and sanitation practices
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation techniques such as braising, grilling, poaching, and meal assembly
- Strong knife skills and proficiency with various cooking methods are highly desirable
- Experience working in catering or large-scale food production environments will be advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
