American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Asheville, NC, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience including high-risk OB care.

Labor & Delivery unit located on the 4th floor of a large, award-winning regional referral hospital with a Level II trauma center and Level III NICU
-
16-bed Labor & Delivery unit supported by a team that includes charge nurses, PCTs, CSTs, and RNs on both day and night shifts
-
Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
-
Common procedures include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and cesarean hysterectomy

Equipment includes Baxter pumps and Philips electronic fetal monitoring

EMR systems: Cerner and Fetal Ink
-
Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (12-hour shifts)
-
Floating may be required to MFMU, MOMB, and NICU
-
Weekend and on-call shifts are not required but may be available with approval

13-week contract

Active NC or Compact RN license required
-
Required certifications: BLS/ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (intermediate or advanced AWHONN, or NCCEFM)

Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required

High-risk OB experience required

Immediate newborn care experience required

Circulating experience preferred

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (candidates from Florida or Missouri must provide two references)

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
