Position Summary
This analyzes manufacturing costs and provides insights into improving cost efficiency and profitability. Works alongside the Inventory Control Specialist to ensure accurate production costing.
Essential Functions
Include, but are not limited to the following:
- Review and analyze production tickets for accuracy, while evaluating production costs and variances.
- Track and report on production costs variances daily.
- Collaborate with production to identify areas of improvement and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain ERP system BOMs and ensure data accuracy.
- Analyze operational costs and cost standards.
- Prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual costs monthly.
- Recommend opportunities for cost reduction and profit maximization.
- Maintain cost accounting systems.
- Conduct margin analysis.
- Assist in month end and year end close processing.
- Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet, reconciliations.
- Inventory management, oversee cycle counts, reconcile physical inventory with general ledger.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic cost forecast.
Position Requirements:
Job Experience / Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of Cost Accountant Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong knowledge of Excel is required.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with financial systems software required; Ross ERP experience preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary.
- Strong analytical skills
- Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, multi-task and work independently and within a team.
- Must have the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and third parties.
Physical/Mental Environment:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Regularly required to use hands to handle objects and feel controls.
- Regularly required to reach; climb stairs; stoop; crouch.
- Regularly required to talk, listen, and have vision capabilities that enable reading and viewing a computer screen.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
