At Gansevoort Meatpacking, every exceptional guest experience begins behind the scenes. We are seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Receiver / Stock Associate to support the daily flow of goods throughout the hotel while maintaining an organized inventory and uniform program.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, takes pride in organization, and understands that accurate receiving and inventory management are essential to delivering luxury hospitality. The Receiver / Stock Associate works closely with every department to ensure products, supplies, and uniforms are received, stored, tracked, and distributed efficiently.
Position Summary
The Receiver / Stock Associate is responsible for receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, stocking operational areas, maintaining storage rooms, and overseeing the hotel's uniform inventory. This role ensures deliveries are accurately received, products are stored properly, inventory remains organized, and departments receive the supplies they need to operate efficiently.
Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and orderly storage environments.
Essential ResponsibilitiesReceiving & Deliveries
- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, quality issues, or incorrect products.
- Report discrepancies promptly to management.
- Label and organize all received merchandise.
- Ensure deliveries are properly documented and stored.
Stocking & Inventory
- Stock and replenish inventory throughout hotel and Food & Beverage outlets.
- Organize storerooms, coolers, freezers, beverage storage areas, and supply rooms.
- Rotate inventory using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts.
- Help maintain accurate inventory records.
- Notify management when inventory levels require replenishment.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage areas at all times.
Uniform Program
- Receive and organize all new uniform shipments.
- Maintain inventory of uniforms by department, size, and style.
- Issue uniforms to newly hired Team Members following established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all uniform issuance, exchanges, alterations, and returns.
- Coordinate with department leaders regarding sizing and replacement needs.
- Upon notification from Human Resources, retrieve uniforms assigned to separating Team Members from designated storage locations.
- Inspect returned uniforms and determine whether garments should be returned to inventory or removed from service based on their condition.
- Coordinate with the Uniform Attendant regarding laundering, repairs, alterations, and disposal of uniforms that are no longer suitable for use.
- Keep uniform storage rooms organized, secure, and properly inventoried.
Operational Support
- Assist departments by delivering supplies and equipment throughout the property.
- Maintain loading dock, receiving area, and storage spaces in a clean and organized condition.
- Safely operate pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment as required.
- Follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and security procedures.
- Assist with special events, inventory projects, and operational initiatives as needed.
- Work collaboratively with Culinary, Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, Human Resources, and Accounting to support daily operations.
Qualifications
- Previous receiving, warehouse, stockroom, inventory, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Luxury hotel or restaurant experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate professionally with vendors and fellow Team Members.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high operational standards.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach overhead, and climb stairs.
- Comfortable working in receiving areas, loading docks, walk-in coolers, freezers, and storage rooms.
- Ability to safely move inventory using carts, dollies, and pallet jacks.
Schedule
Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require. Early morning shifts may be necessary to receive vendor deliveries.
