Wise Street Eats is looking for dependable, hardworking Night Shift Closing Team Members who can thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This position plays an important role in making sure we finish every night strong, maintain our food and service standards, and leave the restaurant clean, stocked, and ready for the next day.
We are looking for team members who take pride in their work, move with urgency, communicate well, and understand that closing is a team effort.
Important Transportation Requirement
Reliable transportation and access to your own vehicle are required for this position. Closing team members may finish their shifts after public transportation has stopped running, so applicants must have a dependable way to get home after every scheduled closing shift.
Responsibilities
- Provide fast, friendly, and professional service to every guest.
- Prepare and serve food according to Wise Street Eats recipes, portions, and quality standards.
- Work multiple positions as needed, including the line, expo, front counter, prep, and cleaning.
- Maintain a clean-as-you-go mentality throughout the entire shift.
- Keep workstations stocked, organized, and ready for service.
- Complete all assigned closing duties thoroughly and on time.
- Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, prep areas, counters, floors, and other restaurant areas.
- Properly store, label, rotate, and put away food at the end of the night.
- Restock products and supplies for the following shift.
- Take out trash, break down boxes, and maintain clean trash and storage areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
- Communicate with managers and teammates about low inventory, equipment issues, or anything that could impact operations.
- Stay productive during slower periods and help teammates complete their responsibilities.
- Remain at work until closing responsibilities are completed and the manager releases the team.
What We're Looking For
- Dependable and able to consistently work scheduled night and closing shifts.
- Reliable transportation and your own vehicle are required due to late closing hours.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
- Strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
- Able to follow instructions, recipes, and operating procedures.
- Willing to receive coaching and corrections positively.
- Team-oriented and willing to help wherever needed.
- Attention to detail, especially when cleaning and closing.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform normal restaurant duties, including bending, reaching, lifting, and cleaning.
- Restaurant experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
Closing Team Expectations
Closing team members are responsible for more than simply working until the restaurant closes. A successful close means:
- The restaurant is fully cleaned and sanitized.
- Food is properly stored and organized.
- Stations are stocked and prepared for the next day.
- Equipment is cleaned correctly.
- Floors, dishes, trash, and closing checklists are completed.
- No team member leaves their teammates behind with unfinished work.
We leave the restaurant the way we would want to walk into it the next morning.
