Optician
- Eye Care Center is an upscale, high-volume practice located in the South College Station area. We pride ourselves on our outstanding customer service and our commitment to serving our community. We strive to excel in delivering our patients with the best patient care available. We are searching for an experienced, dedicated, self motivated, friendly, and outgoing individual to join our team. Bilingual and prior optical experience is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
Job Duties -
- Assist patients with selecting frames based on prescription, fit, lifestyle, and personal preferences
- Educate patients about lens materials, treatments, coatings, and available upgrades
- Accurately take and document optical measurements
- Interpret eyeglass prescriptions and enter orders accurately
- Explain and apply routine vision-plan benefits, allowances, copays, and patient-responsibility amounts
- Provide clear pricing and collect payments
- Adjust, repair, dispense, and troubleshoot eyewear
- Inspect completed eyewear for accuracy, quality, and proper fit
- Communicate with optical laboratories regarding orders, delays, remakes, and warranties
- Maintain organized frame displays and assist with inventory
- Follow up with patients regarding orders and outstanding needs
- Support practice sales and service goals while always prioritizing the patient’s best interests
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with practice policies and procedures
- Assist other team members as needed to keep patient flow efficient
Qualifications:
- ABO certification preferred
- Inventory and/or retail experience is preferred
- Previous sales experience required in optical
- Friendly, bright, and detail-oriented
