Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning fresh produce, meats, and other components for menu items
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling salads, sandwiches, and side dishes to ensure timely service
- Follow food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to maintain cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination
- Support the cooking team by organizing ingredients and utensils needed for meal preparation
- Maintain a clean and organized work station throughout your shift, adhering to sanitation standards
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow during busy service hours
Skills
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards
- Proven ability in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with culinary techniques for efficient food prep
- Experience in menu planning or catering adds valuable insight into meal presentation and portion control
