American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a cardiac specialty hospital in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience and active OH or compact RN licensure.

Lower acuity cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a heart hospital

Patient ratio of 1:3-4

3x12-hour rotating day/night shifts (36 hours per week), with day shift running 7:00–19:30 and night shift running 19:00–7:30

Weekday and weekend shifts required with rotating holiday coverage

Floating to units of similar or lower acuity within the health system is required

Epic EMR experience required

13-week contract

Active OH or compact RN license required

Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Strong skills in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation required

Cardiac experience preferred

2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as a second reference; co-worker references are not accepted

Monitor and assess cardiac patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team

Local candidates are accepted

Former employees of the facility are eligible after a 6-month separation period

Any requested time off (RTO) must be declared upfront and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract period

Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting the position — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet upon receipt
