Overview
S&T Auto Repair and Roadside Assistance is looking for an experienced, reliable, and skilled Mobile Auto Mechanic to join our team. The mechanic will travel to customers' locations to diagnose vehicle problems, perform repairs and maintenance, and provide roadside assistance.
The ideal candidate should have strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, be able to work independently, communicate professionally with customers, and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability problems on customer vehicles.
- Perform mobile vehicle repairs at customers' homes, workplaces, parking lots, and roadside locations.
- Use OBD-II scanners and other diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle problems.
- Perform engine diagnostics and basic engine repairs.
- Replace spark plugs, ignition coils, sensors, belts, hoses, batteries, alternators, and starters.
- Perform brake inspections and brake repairs, including pads, rotors, and related components.
- Perform suspension and steering repairs when appropriate for mobile service.
- Perform oil changes, fluid services, and other routine vehicle maintenance.
- Diagnose check-engine lights and other dashboard warning lights.
- Diagnose starting, charging, battery, and electrical-system problems.
- Assist customers with roadside emergencies, including jump-starts and minor roadside repairs.
- Inspect vehicles and explain recommended repairs to customers clearly.
- Provide accurate information about needed parts and repair requirements.
- Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and service vehicles in clean and safe condition.
- Keep accurate records of services and repairs performed.
- Follow company safety procedures while working around vehicles, traffic, and roadside locations.
- Maintain a professional attitude and provide excellent customer service.
- Communicate with management regarding job status, additional repairs, parts needs, and customer concerns.
- Complete assigned service calls efficiently and responsibly.
Qualifications
- Previous professional automotive mechanic experience required.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems.
- Experience using automotive diagnostic scanners and testing equipment.
- Ability to work on different makes and models of vehicles.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and responsible.
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors, indoors, and at roadside locations.
- Must be able to safely lift automotive parts, tools, tires, batteries, and other equipment as required.
- ASE certification is a plus but not required.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
