Overview
The Clinical Supervisor / Licensed Therapist provides clinical leadership, supervision, consultation, and mentorship to clinicians while maintaining an active client caseload. This role combines direct clinical care with supervision responsibilities to support both client outcomes and clinician development.
The ideal candidate is a strong clinician who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping other therapists grow while continuing to provide high-quality therapy services.
Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Supervision
- Provide individual and group supervision.
- Support clinicians with diagnosis, treatment planning, and case conceptualization.
- Assist with crisis management and risk assessment.
- Review documentation and provide clinical feedback.
- Support clinicians pursuing independent licensure.
- Ensure ethical and regulatory compliance.
Direct Clinical Services
- Maintain an active therapy caseload.
- Conduct intakes and ongoing therapy sessions.
- Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner.
- Develop treatment plans and monitor client progress.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration when appropriate.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct chart reviews and audits.
- Monitor documentation quality and compliance.
- Identify training and development needs.
- Assist with policy implementation and quality improvement initiatives.
Training & Staff Development
- Support onboarding of new clinicians.
- Facilitate case consultation and clinical discussions.
- Assist in developing internal trainings and continuing education opportunities.
- Foster a culture of clinical excellence and accountability.
Caseload Expectations:
- Clinical caseload of approximately 15–20 client sessions per week
- Individual supervision responsibilities
- Participation in team meetings and quality assurance activities
Preferred Qualifications:
Required
- LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist in Massachusetts
- Independent clinical licensure in good standing
- Minimum 5 years post-licensure experience
- Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills
Highly Preferred
- Previous supervisory experience
- Experience in outpatient behavioral health
- Experience supervising clinicians seeking independent licensure
- Expertise in trauma-informed care
- Experience working with children, families, couples, and/or perinatal populations
