Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated handrail Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic construction and manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating handrail components according to detailed blueprints and technical schematics. Your expertise in various welding techniques, mechanical knowledge, and safety compliance will ensure high-quality craftsmanship on every project. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse steel assemblies contributing to Kansas City's critical infrastructure and building systems.
Duties
- Perform MIG fitting/ welding techniques to join metal components with precision and adherence to AISC standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately execute fitting and welding tasks.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers equipment to prepare materials for welding and fitting operations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to power tool safety protocols and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe and timely workday.
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings for accurate fabrication.
- Knowledge of D1.1 and AISC codes & standards related to welding.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while adhering to safety regulations.
- Familiarity with rigging procedures for lifting heavy components safely during installation projects.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to layout.
- Fabrication shop experience with a focus on safety compliance in fast-paced environments.

Pay: $23.95 - $27.00 per hour
