As a Employee Benefits Specialist at Elim, you'll be required to:
Employee Benefits Administration:
Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending, personalized benefits plan, disability insurance, behavioral health support and retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
Conduct benefits orientation for new employees and assist employees with enrollment, changes, and benefits related questions. Follow up to make sure enrollments are completed and properly documented .
Process benefit plan enrollments, changes and terminations including COBRA in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide guidance and assistance to employees and managers about benefit matters and respond to inquiries relating to these matters.
Coordinate open enrollment activities including communications and education.
Prepare and develop communication and educational materials regarding benefits package and provide employees with education regarding various plans and utilization.
Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure timely processing of enrollments and changes.
Evaluate benefits package to meet the needs of a changing workforce.
Develop and maintain employee benefit procedures.
Verify, assemble and scan all documentation related to benefits into employee’s electronic file.
Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and work collaboratively with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions. Invoice employees for premiums for benefit plans while out on leave.
Serve as liaison between employees, insurance carriers, brokers and third-party administrators to resolve benefits issues.
Track and report on data on benefit related information.
Assist with benefits reporting and compliance requirements including ACA reporting, Form 5500 filings and annual audits.
Review FMLA requests, determine eligibility, prepare appropriate paperwork, communicate rights and responsibilities, and complete certification process including extensions, approvals and denials.
Stay current on federal and state regulations and legislation that may impact FMLA.
Communicate on the status of request(s) with supervisors.
Maintain time records for all staff on continuous leaves.
Track time used, recertifications and individuals nearing the limit
Track and compile reports from database as needed.
Miscellaneous
Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding HR policies, standards, procedures, and employment related matters.
Support recruitment efforts including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and onboarding.
Maintain electronic employee personnel files and HRIS records to including managing I-9 records.
Assist with various HR functions, events, and activities.
Responsible for knowing all policies and procedures and being able to inform administration and staff of them as well as suggestions for future changes.
Performs other duties as requested

Wages & Benefits:
- Competitive starting pay of $63,000 - $77,000/annual

Education, Experience & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience with HRIS and benefits administration systems required.
Minimum of (2) years of progressive human resources experience strongly preferred.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrates capacity to manage multiple demands while maintaining priorities.
Proactively seeks solutions to issues before they become problems.
Ability to handle appropriately handle confidential information.
Ability to communicate and collaborate in a manner that demonstrates and fosters cooperation, respect, concern and openness to change.
Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and PowerPoint)
