Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients to streamline kitchen operations
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines throughout your shift
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal service efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Support menu planning efforts by providing feedback on recipes and ingredient needs based on daily operations
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, including storage, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention
- Assist in catering events or special meal preparations as needed to meet guest expectations
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic culinary techniques required for meal preparation
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling practices essential for maintaining hygiene and quality
- Experience working in dietary departments or with dietary aides is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with special dietary needs and menu adjustments
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and cleanliness
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel
- Prior experience in catering or large-scale food service is desirable but not mandatory
