Position Overview
We are seeking a Lead Mitigation Technician / Field Operations Manager to help lead emergency mitigation projects from first response through dry-down completion.
This role requires someone who can think independently, communicate clearly, lead crews, document jobs properly for insurance carriers, and deliver an excellent customer experience.
You will be one of the key faces of our company in the field.
ResponsibilitiesEmergency Response / Field Operations
- Respond to emergency water/fire/mold loss calls
- Inspect properties and assess damage
- Identify affected materials requiring mitigation
- Perform water extraction
- Set up structural drying equipment
- LGR dehumidifiers
- air movers
- HEPA air scrubbers
- containment systems
- Install floor protection and containment barriers
- Perform selective demolition

- insulation

- trim
- cabinetry when needed
- Apply antimicrobial treatments per protocol
- Remove debris and maintain clean jobsites
- Monitor drying progress and adjust equipment daily
Documentation / Insurance Support
This is a major part of the role.
You must be detail oriented.
Responsibilities include:
- Moisture readings
- Daily drying logs
- Equipment logs
- Photo documentation
- Scope notes
- Jobsite condition documentation
- Uploading files into company systems
- Supporting Xactimate billing documentation
- Assisting with insurance carrier communication when needed
If documentation is weak, the job is incomplete.
Customer Communication
- Walk homeowners through the mitigation process
- Set realistic expectations
- Communicate timelines clearly
- Maintain professionalism under stress
- Handle difficult conversations calmly
- Protect the company’s reputation through excellent service
Leadership / Team Management
- Lead helpers / technicians on jobs
- Train junior team members
- Maintain job quality standards
- Ensure safety compliance
- Manage equipment accountability
- Help improve SOPs and field systems
- Assist leadership in scaling operations
QualificationsRequired
- 3+ years in mitigation, restoration, construction, or related field
- Strong hands-on experience with demolition and drying equipment
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Strong communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs
- Comfortable working in crawlspaces, attics, basements, ladders, etc.
- Comfortable with after-hours emergency work
- Basic technology competence (photos, apps, documentation)
Preferred
- IICRC certifications (WRT / ASD / AMRT)
- Xactimate familiarity
- Previous restoration leadership experience
- Insurance claim documentation experience
- Experience dealing with adjusters
Compensation
Base salary + commission on jobs completed.
Potential structures may include:
- Competitive base salary + commission

Schedule
This is not a strict 9–5 role.
Emergency mitigation requires flexibility.
Expected availability may include:
- Days
- Nights
- Weekends
- On-call emergency rotation
