Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Sandblaster to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces through abrasive blasting techniques to ensure optimal quality for subsequent coating and finishing processes. Your expertise will help maintain high safety standards, improve production efficiency, and deliver top-quality finished products. Duties
- Operate sandblasting equipment and hand tools to clean and prepare surfaces on various materials, including metal and construction surfaces, ensuring adherence to quality standards in production.
- Interpret production documents such as work orders, technical drawings, and surface preparation instructions to execute tasks accurately.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and safety gear, to safeguard against dust, debris, and other hazards during abrasive blasting activities.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other power tools to move heavy or bulky items within the manufacturing area.
- Conduct visual color comparisons and surface inspections to verify proper finish quality before proceeding with coating or painting processes.
- Apply coatings using conventional spraying methods, airless paint spraying, or powder coating techniques to achieve the desired surface finish.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment, perform routine maintenance on sandblasting machinery, and adhere strictly to safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience in industrial sandblasting, manufacturing, or construction painting surface preparation is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of coating application techniques such as powder coating, industrial painting, or auto body repair is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and machining equipment is essential.
- Understanding of safety procedures related to respiratory protection, PPE use, and handling hazardous materials is required.
- Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating surface areas are necessary for accurate work execution.
- Ability to interpret production documents accurately and follow detailed instructions is critical for maintaining quality standards in production environments.
