Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department with energy and enthusiasm. Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the automotive service department, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service delivery
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of service technicians and advisors to achieve departmental goals
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, transmissions, air brakes, and collision repairs
- Utilize estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to prepare accurate repair estimates
- Upsell additional services and maintenance opportunities to maximize revenue while maintaining customer trust
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and quality control procedures
- Handle client communication effectively, providing transparent explanations of repairs and estimates
- Manage cash handling processes and ensure proper documentation for all transactions
- Maintain a thorough understanding of automotive repair procedures, including service writing and auto estimating techniques
- Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies critical to service operations
Skills
- Proven experience in auto service management within a dealership or independent shop environment
- Strong mechanic background with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs
- Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Knowledge of automotive systems such as transmissions, brakes, suspension, tire services, shocks & struts, oil changes, air brakes, etc.
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Experience in sales strategies related to automotive repair services
- Mechanical knowledge combined with auto service management expertise
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly

Pay: $51,443.28 - $100,000.00 per year
