Corning Community College is a premier two-year College, offering degree programs, certificates, and continuing education classes and is currently seeking a skilled Machining Instructor to join our team in the Fall 2026 Semester as an Instructor of Mechanical Technology. This position is a Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty position
primarily in the areas of Machine Tool and Mechanical Technology within our STEM Division.
Skilled Machinists who are confident in teaching machining fundamentals like PRINT-READING, SHOP SAFETY, METALLURGY, and fundamental manual machining techniques using SAWS, MILLS, LATHES, and GRINDERS are encouraged to apply! Skills in using and teaching CNC equipment and software is also a plus. Position requires the instructor to set-up, maintain, and make improvements to labs and equipment.
Faculty are responsible for teaching a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and updating course
materials, grading assignments and assessments, and holding office hours for each course taught to support student learning. Faculty are also expected to advise students on academic progress and career goals. Courses may be offered in-person, asynchronous online, or synchronous online, depending on departmental needs.
Tenure-track faculty are expected to organize, maintain, and revise course content as needed to ensure instructional effectiveness and alignment with departmental and
institutional standards.

Occasional meetings at different CCC locations and in the community may be required; travel to conferences and/or recruiting events may be required. Travel to local (within 60 miles) high schools may be required. Ability to adequately see, hear, and have the manual dexterity to perform and monitor classroom lectures, demonstrations and perform other teaching duties. Prolonged time sitting/standing working with computers and monitors, ability to walk/move across campus including walking up and down stairs, ability to lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, repeated motions may include keyboard typing. Typical classroom, office, laboratory/lab space and indoor building environments, occasional outdoor activity may be required. A signing bonus may be offered for high-demand fields. The signing bonus is a stipend and not added to base salary.
