Join Our Team as a Marine Parts Associate!
Southeastern Marine & Yacht Power is building Florida’s premier manufacturer-authorized marine servicing dealership.
We're seeking a highly organized, knowledgeable, and motivated Marine Parts Associate for our parts department retail sales operations and ensure internal technicians and customers receive accurate, timely parts support as well as ship/receive parts, manage inventory and other responsibilities as assigned.
This is a hands-on leadership position perfect for someone with marine industry experience, attention to detail, and a customer-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the growth of retail and wholesale parts sales, including:
- Over-the-counter walk in sales
- Phone and email sales
- Assist customers directly with counter sales and special orders, providing expert guidance.
- Coordinate with service writers and operations team to ensure work orders are supported with the correct parts in a timely manner.
- Serve as the liaison between service technicians and vendors for all parts-related needs.
- Responsible for daily operations of the parts department including working with purchasing on order, receiving and stocking shelves
- Source and quote OEM and aftermarket parts for marine diesel engines, outboards, generators, propulsion systems and internal supplies as needed using OEM parts catalogs
- Assist purchasing to maintain accurate inventory levels and manage reordering of high-turn and critical components.
- Develop and implement processes for improved efficiency and accuracy in parts handling.
- Oversee core returns and vendor communications as well as work with warranty for parts-related warranty claims
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant parts storage areas
- Cashiering for repair orders, as required
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned to maintain business operations
Qualifications:
- Someone who is looking for a long-term position that is reliable, trustworthy and strong integrity
- 3+ years experience in marine, automotive, or powersports parts operations (marine preferred or high knowledge of boats).
- Strong knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, and components.
- Familiarity with parts catalog systems (e.g., Cummins, Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Mercury, Kohler, Fischer Panda, Westerbeke, etc.).
- Experience with Lightspeed DMS (CDK) and Microsoft Office Suite are a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, occasionally outdoor environment.
- Technical or marine certification a plus.
- Experience with forklift operation a plus.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
