Join Our Team as a Custom Millwork Engineer

A leader in high-quality architectural millwork for 50 years is seeking a passionate and results-driven Custom Millwork Engineer to join our team. Based in the mid-Atlantic area, we specialize in creating unique spaces in commercial buildings and are proud to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
What You’ll Do
As a Custom Millwork Engineer, you’ll work at our facility in Capitol Heights, MD, with project management and production teams to create high quality deliverables designed to optimize company throughput and drive contribution margin. You will use your engineering experience to create 3D models in SolidWorks and Swood, associated documents and release them for fabrication. Your key responsibilities will include:
· Develop 3D models of millwork items in Solidworks and Swood. This may include feature walls, reception desks, stairs, planters, diewalls, banquettes, and paneling.
· Create assembly and machine documentation to be used by machine operators and shop floor workers.
· Self-review your work before submitting for review by others.
· Be a self-starter and curious. Ask questions early about things you’re unsure about.
· Work with the Senior Custom Millwork Engineer to develop and maintain product libraries. Add and/or modify items as necessary.
· Mentor and assist in the development of Associate Custom Millwork Engineers.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
A successful candidate will value urgency, accuracy, and streamlined coordination as measured by:
· You will be expected to process work orders that will have an approximate revenue level of $4.5M.
· Contribution to gross margin via efficient processing of work orders. This will be tracked by using estimated/planned hours vs. actual hours.
· Ability to develop complex items and add them to the library as necessary.
· Number of shop issues created post engineering.
What We’re Looking For To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
· Minimum of 3 years’ SolidWorks and SWOOD experience in the millwork industry.
· Experience in other 3D modeling programs, such as Rhino is a benefit but not required.
· Working knowledge & experience of material, machine and tool limitations.
· Experience in collaborating with PM’s and Production Managers to solve problems. Be solutions-oriented.
· Knowledge of AWI standards and specifications.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, etc.)
· Knowledge of Innergy is beneficial.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
