Field & Production Manager — Roofing + Siding
Hybrid 50 % job-site | 50 % office (Burr Ridge, IL)
At Locke & Ladder, every ridge cap, siding reveal, and copper valley gets the same level of respect. We believe great craft is a service in itself, and our clients feel that care from the first handshake to the last clean-up sweep. We’re adding a Field & Production Manager who shares that belief and has the experience to back it up.
What makes us different
We’re guided by clear principles: protect the homeowner, honor the details, and never compromise craftsmanship. Before you apply, read our Manifesto () and scroll our Portfolio (). Those pages show the standard you’ll help us defend—and improve.
What success looks like
- Projects run to plan. Jobs start on time, finish on schedule, and meet spec—no lingering punch list.
- Crews are dialed-in. Scope is clear, safety is followed, and job sites stay organized and clean.
- Homeowners stay confident. You share progress photos, answer questions the same day, and remove surprises before they land.
- Materials are ready when crews are. You confirm orders, track lead times, and keep production moving without idle labor.
- The CRM tells the real story. Notes, tasks, cost codes, and close-out files stay current and accurate.
Your weekly rhythm
Field (~ 20 hrs) Morning site walks: verify tear-offs, flashings, underlayment. Mid-day quality checks: correct issues on the spot, coach as needed. Final inspections: capture warranty photos, sign off clean finishes. Handle small repairs when that’s the fastest, smartest solution.
Office (~ 20 hrs) Build look-ahead schedules—one, two, and four weeks out. Order roofing, siding, windows and specialty trim; double-check take-offs. Onboard and mentor subcontractors so expectations stay crystal-clear. Call homeowners to set timelines, confirm access, and resolve concerns. Update CRM; track margins, cycle times, and any callbacks.
Must-have experience
- 5 + years managing residential roofing siding and windows projects from start to finish.
- A track record of leading crews—motivating, coaching, and holding people accountable.
- Deep knowledge of steep-slope best practices: ventilation, flashing, Class 4 systems, and beyond.
- Comfort with CRMs (JobNimbus, AccuLynx, Leap, or similar).
- Clear, professional communication; Spanish/Polish fluency is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license; able to climb ladders, work outdoors, and lift 75 + lbs safely.
Compensation & growth
- $75 k + base (DOE) plus performance bonuses.
- Defined advancement path—Senior PM, Regional Production Lead, and future equity opportunities for top performers.
