Pay: Based on experience
- Starting pay is $15.00/hour. Higher pay may be offered to candidates with 3+ years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Final compensation is based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
About the Position
Resourceful Refuge, Inc. is seeking compassionate, dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential group homes and day program settings.
This position requires individuals who are patient, professional, reliable, and able to remain calm when supporting individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviors.
Available Shifts
Residential Group Home
- Weekend Day Shift: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Evening Shift: 2:00PM-10:00PM or 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- Weekend Overnight Shift (Awake Overnight): 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM
Day Program
- Monday-Friday: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with personal care, hygiene, grooming, and daily living activities
- Support community outings and skill development
- Implement behavior support plans
- Complete daily documentation and progress notes
- Administer medications after required training
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
- Work effectively as part of a team
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License (Required)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Previous DSP, Residential Counselor, or Behavioral Health experience
- CPR/First Aid Certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when needed
- Must remain awake and alert during overnight shifts
