Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge and experience in various maintenance tasks. This individual will maintain the cleanliness of the shop as well as other tasks assigned by management.
Duties
- Service & Maintenance Support:
· Assist technicians in diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment including excavators, skid steers, wheel loaders, backhoes, and more
· Perform basic services such as oil changes, greasing, fluid top-offs, battery checks, and filter replacements
· Wash, clean, and detail equipment to dealership standards before machines are sent out on rent or returned to customers
· Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) to ensure rental machines are fully serviced, clean, and ready for the field
· Maintain accurate service records and help update work orders
· Keep service bays clean, organized, and stocked with supplies
· Assist with loading and unloading equipment or parts deliveries
· Safely operate forklifts, pressure washers, and other shop tools under supervision
· Follow all dealership safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Parts & Logistics Support:
· Assist mechanics by sourcing and retrieving parts from the parts department
· Help maintain proper stock levels of commonly used shop parts and consumables
· Support the dealership by picking up or delivering ordered parts to job sites, vendors, or other branch locations as needed
· Organize incoming parts deliveries and ensure they’re properly stored or distributed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
