Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Light and Medium Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet running smoothly, whether it’s trucks, heavy machinery, or farm equipment. Duties
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on light and medium duty diesel engines and vehicles
- Repair and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery using schematics and technical manuals
- Conduct mechanical systems repairs including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, brakes, shocks & struts, and air brake systems
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to complete repairs efficiently
- Troubleshoot automotive electrical systems and perform diagnostics to identify issues accurately
- Fabricate parts or components as needed for equipment repair or customization
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with heavy equipment operation and vehicle maintenance
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical systems
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery repair
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
- Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial or farm machinery
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics software and vehicle systems troubleshooting
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing manual repairs in various environments
