JOB SUMMARY: As a Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician at LogistiQ, you will be a part of our Maintenance team. The ideal candidate will perform maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, custodial duties and other building systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Perform the day-to-day operations of the building and grounds maintenance department.
- Perform maintenance work as directed by work assignments and project schedules.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Performs grounds maintenance such as cleaning snow from sidewalks.
- Ensures heating and cooling systems are operational.
- Follows maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly in a timely manner.
- Performs safety inspections for building and grounds maintenance department.
- Escalates issues to management and recommends solutions.
- Operates hand and power tools.
- Follow all company policies and procedures and adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned

- May need to travel locally on occasion.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Knows building and grounds maintenance best practices.
- Knows how to operate hand and power tools.
- Demonstrates time management and organization skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic data entry skills including how to print documents.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Able to convert decimals to fractions and vice versa. Ability to read a tape measure within 1/16”.
- Successful completion of 90-day probationary period.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- OSHA 10-hour training is preferred.
- Forklift and scissor lift experience is preferred.
- One year of building and grounds maintenance experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight & confined spaces.
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Adjusting or moving objects in all directions.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Repeating motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Operating machinery and/or power tools.
Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.
Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
Small and/or enclosed spaces.
No adverse environmental conditions expected.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role primarily operates within a manufacturing facility, with exposure to production floor activities and office environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the non-air conditioned work environment is moderate. Steel toe shoes and safety glasses are required.
