Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Road Service Technician to join our team and deliver exceptional on-the-road support for heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and commercial vehicles. In this vital role, you will perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting at customer sites or in the field, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Duties
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, tractors, and farm machinery using OEM schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Perform repairs including brake service, transmission work, suspension adjustments, hydraulic system repairs, and engine diagnostics on diesel engines.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as tire service, air brake inspections, alignment checks, and vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to assemble or repair machinery components.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during on-site repairs or when moving parts for service or replacement.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering recommendations for ongoing maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a service technician in a dealership or industrial environment with a strong mechanical background.
- Familiarity with OEM parts and systems for Caterpillar, Ford, John Deere or similar brands is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, welding, fabrication, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting purposes.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including brake repair, tire service, transmissions, suspension systems, and air brakes.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment and other maintenance-related tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely when needed.
