American Traveler is hiring a Registered Ultrasound Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and ARDMS/ARRT certification to perform general and vascular ultrasound exams in a hospital setting.

Hospital-based Radiology/Cardiology department performing general ultrasound exams
-
Adult patient population across Emergency Department, ICU, Obstetrics, and portable settings
-
Patient ratio of 1:10
-
Performs OB/GYN exams including fetal anatomical survey and multiple pregnancy assessments
-
Performs general ultrasound exams including abdominal aorta, appendix, biliary tract, breast, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, and spleen
-
Performs vascular studies including carotid, dialysis grafts, duplex, arterial mapping, and upper/lower extremity arterial and venous studies
-
Performs small parts imaging including breast, thyroid, and testicular/scrotal ultrasound
-
Performs transplant studies for liver, pancreas, and renal
-
Assists with procedures including paracentesis, thoracentesis, and ultrasound-guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration
-
Utilizes PACS, Philips, and Siemens equipment

Monday through Friday day shift schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Call required 2 days per week and every other weekend with a 30-minute response time

Cerner charting experience preferred
-
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography program
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sonographer
-
ARDMS certification required, with ARRT preferred
-
Current BLS certification required
-
License required if applicable
-
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
-
Trauma Level II experience preferred
-
Outpatient ultrasound experience will be considered

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist, and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds

Must be able to perform sonography exams for eight or more hours across department, surgery, emergency department, and patient floor settings

Must have strong communication skills and the ability to handle critical, high-stress situations with composure
-
Provide quality diagnostic imaging to support patient diagnosis and continuum of care
-
Assist Radiologists with exams as needed
-
Work in a hospital that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
-
Required to participate in on-call rotation
-
Facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana testing
-
Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered

Local candidates are not accepted

Experienced travelers are preferred, though first-time travelers with outpatient ultrasound experience will be considered
