We are seeking a reliable and experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. This position will primarily operate mini excavator and skid steer on our job sites at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments while assisting crews with excavation, grading, trenching, material handling, and site preparation.
Responsibilities
- Operate mini excavator and skid steer safely and efficiently
- Perform trenching, grading, backfilling, and site cleanup
- Load, move, and distribute materials around the job site
- Assist pipe crews and field personnel as needed
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Identify and report equipment issues or safety concerns
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow all company and OSHA safety requirements
Qualifications
- Experience operating mini excavators and skid steers required
- Construction site experience preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor when needed
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL is a plus, but not required
Preferred Experience
- Utility, mechanical, plumbing, or underground construction experience
- Experience around trenching and underground utilities
- Familiarity with compact equipment attachments
