Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist specializing in Mill and Lathe operations to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling machines and lathes to produce high-precision components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will drive efficiency and quality in our production processes. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines and lathes, ensuring precise execution of machining tasks.
- Develop and modify CNC programs using programming software to optimize machining processes.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce accurate parts.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, including electrical discharge machining (EDM) tools, tooling setups, and troubleshooting machine issues.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each project while adhering to lean manufacturing principles.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety protocols; operate hand tools and power tools as needed for setup or assembly tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist working with both mill and lathe machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and familiarity with Fanuc controls.
- Demonstrated ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with CAD software like SolidWorks or general CAD/CAM programming is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with precision measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances; experience with lean manufacturing practices is advantageous.
