Job Summary
The Program Expansion Manager is responsible for supporting the Franklin Food Pantry’s grant-funded expansion initiative focused on increasing equitable access to pantry services for high-need populations, including families with children and seniors. This position will oversee operational volunteer training, strengthen inventory and distribution systems, and manage the Oasis scheduling system to ensure a smooth, welcoming, and client-centered pantry experience. The role is designed as a temporary two-year capacity-building position, with the long-term goal of transitioning operational leadership to trained Lead Volunteers.
Program Expansion & Client Services
- Support implementation and coordination of expanded pantry shopping hours aligned with community needs
- Provide support for new client registrations, conduct interviews, answer questions, and follow-up in conjunction with the Client Lead
- Provide direct client support during pantry operations while fostering a welcoming and trauma-informed environment
Volunteer Training & Leadership Development
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and support of volunteers for expanded-hour operations
- Support development of Lead Volunteers capable of independently managing pantry operations and client support functions
- Provide ongoing training and troubleshooting support related to client-facing systems and pantry procedures
- Promote strong volunteer engagement, communication, and operational consistency
Operations & Inventory Support
- Support pantry operations including inventory oversight, stocking, product flow, and food distribution coordination during shifts
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to leadership staff
Oasis Scheduling System Management
- Manage and support the Oasis client scheduling system, including appointment scheduling, troubleshooting, and volunteer training
- Assist with reducing scheduling errors and improving appointment flow during pantry operations
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in onboarding and cross-training during the first three months of the project, including learning pantry operations, volunteer management, inventory systems, and trauma-informed care principles
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment while adapting to ever-changing conditions on a daily basis
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to support and train volunteers in operational procedures and client service practices
- Comfort with technology and aptitude for learning scheduling and database systems, including Oasis and Microsoft Suite
- Commitment to trauma-informed, client-centered service delivery
- Excellent organization, time-management, and task-management skills
- Some knowledge of food safety ideal but not required
Physical Requirements
- Light to moderate physical effort required, including lifting and moving food products and supplies
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed
- Ability to stand, move throughout the facility, and assist with pantry operations during shifts
Education and Experience
- Experience in a client-facing, volunteer coordination, or community services role preferred
- Experience working with populations facing food insecurity or other social determinants of health preferred
- Experience supporting operations, scheduling systems, or inventory management preferred

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
