Position Summary
The Pool Cleaning Route Manager is responsible for overseeing daily pool cleaning operations, managing route technicians, maintaining service quality, optimizing routes, handling customer issues, and ensuring efficiency across the service department. This role focuses on technician accountability, route performance, client satisfaction, and operational organization.
Core ResponsibilitiesDaily Operations Management
- Oversee all daily pool cleaning routes and technician schedules
- Ensure routes are completed efficiently and on time
- Monitor technician productivity and route completion
- Adjust schedules based on weather, emergencies, or staffing issues
- Coordinate same-day service calls and priority accounts
- Review daily service reports and photos for quality control
Route Optimization
- Maintain efficient routing to reduce drive time and overtime
- Balance technician workload using pool point/weight systems
- Reassign pools as needed for efficiency or staffing changes
- Monitor fuel usage and route profitability
- Identify opportunities to consolidate service areas
Technician Management
- Manage and support pool cleaning technicians
- Conduct ride-alongs and field quality inspections
- Train technicians on service standards and procedures
- Enforce company policies and safety standards
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and performance
- Assist with onboarding and continued training
Customer Service & Communication
- Handle escalated customer concerns and service issues
- Communicate service delays or weather impacts to clients
- Ensure technicians provide professional client interactions
- Maintain high customer retention and satisfaction
- Follow up on complaints and corrective actions
Water Quality & Service Standards
- Ensure pools are chemically balanced and properly maintained
- Monitor recurring problem pools and create action plans
- Verify accurate chemical dosing and equipment operation
- Ensure proper documentation of readings and services performed
- Maintain consistency in service quality across all routes
Equipment & Inventory Oversight
- Track technician equipment and supply usage
- Ensure service vehicles are maintained and organized
- Monitor chemical inventory levels
- Coordinate repairs or replacement of tools and equipment
- Prevent waste and unnecessary chemical usage
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate route records and service notes
- Update scheduling and customer software systems
- Assist with billing discrepancies related to service
- Generate reports on route performance and overtime
- Participate in weekly operations meetings
- Track KPIs including:
- Route completion rates
- Callbacks
- Customer retention
- Overtime hours
- Productivity points
- Chemical usage
Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
