Advanced Foot Care is the largest and highest-rated Podiatric Medicine and surgery group on Long Island and Queens. Located in our Woodbury office, as an essential part of our practice we are currently looking for a Medical Assistant who is a team-player and thrives off of a fast-paced environment working for a multisite practice. In person only (no remote work available), must have reliable transportation. Advanced Foot Care has great company culture and great benefits!
Schedule Requirements:
2 Saturdays a month 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Must have the ability to work until 6:00 PM on weeknights.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Escort patients to Exam rooms
Screen patients and enter relevant information including medications and allergies into our EMR
Assist physician in room as needed; Liaison between physician and patient
Fit and dispense Durable Medical Equipment & Diabetic shoes
Obtain insurance benefits coverage information
Scan patients for Orthotics
Perform inventory, order medical supplies and restock rooms as needed
Sterilize equipment, create gauze packets and sanitize examination rooms
Fill out lab requisitions and coordinate with labs as needed
Cross-train with Front Desk to assist in check-in, check-out, and schedule management
Answer phones
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma - Required
Medical Assistant certificate - preferred but N/A
Qualifications and Skills:
Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
Positive attitude and a patient centric approach
Ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment
Diligent, reliable and professional
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
