Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Experienced Dental Receptionist to join our busy dental practice. This role combines front desk administrative support with clinical assistance, ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience with dental and medical office procedures, proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, and excellent communication skills. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes using Eaglesoft
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle medical billing and collections
- Schedule appointments efficiently utilizing medical scheduling software and multi-line phone systems
- Prepare patient charts and review documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Manage front desk operations including phone etiquette, filing, data entry (10 key typing), and clerical tasks
- Educate patients on care plans, post-treatment instructions, and preventive dental health measures
- Support clinic operations by managing patient intake forms, processing payments, and handling correspondence
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft is preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and health information management
- Experience with insurance verification, medical billing, medical collection processes, and Medicare documentation requirements
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with office management systems
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone system handling
- Ability to review complex documentation accurately while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with hospital or healthcare environments is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in office management tasks such as filing and record keeping
