Our client is building a newly emerging family office, the next chapter for a 70+ year agricultural and financial enterprise and is seeking a highly strategic, business-minded individual to help shape and support it.
This is a rare part-time opportunity offering real flexibility, a blend of independent work and strategic influence, and meaningful accountability for repositioning and building long-term, generational growth engines. The role is wide-ranging by design, drawing on capabilities spanning Chief of Staff, COO, CIO, CFO, Controller, and trusted advisor.
The position partners closely with ownership to build infrastructure, guide investment strategy, and steward multi-generational wealth across a complex, multi-entity ecosystem, sitting at the intersection of strategy and execution as a trusted advisor to the CEO/Chair and family members.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO & Chair, this role supports the vision, values, and mission of the enterprise. Working closely with two Boards and two Managing Directors, the position contributes to long-term growth strategy across several operating platforms.
Day-to-day accountability centers on accounting and financial reporting across a growing family office that spans operating businesses, investments, trusts, and philanthropic initiatives. More broadly, the role engages across tax, legal, compliance, finance, risk management, and human resources and supports individual, family, and trust activities with a meaningful hand in governance, legacy planning, and philanthropic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Family Office Development
- Establish new corporate organizational structure, including formation of LLCs, NewCos, and trusts.
- Partner with LLC Managing Directors and the Advisory Board on governance and key decisions.
- Support legacy planning and multi-generational wealth transfer.
- Define and execute long-term strategy for the family office.
Investment & Portfolio Management
- Develop and provide oversight of portfolio strategy and diversification.
- Coordinate relationships with investment partners, banks, and advisors.
- Support M&A transaction activity and capital deployment.
- Evaluate financing structures and capital allocation.
Financial Oversight & Operations
- Execute accounting operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and deliver financial reporting.
- Execute treasury and cash management functions.
- Coordinate tax strategy, planning, and compliance.
- Implement reporting, financial systems, and data tools.
Entity & Business Oversight
Provide coordination across a multi-entity ecosystem, including:
- The core operating holding company
- An agricultural operating business
- A banking and insurance agency platform
- Affiliated capital holdings and real estate entities
- Family entities, trusts, and philanthropic vehicles (including DAFs)
Governance, Risk & Infrastructure
- Accountable for financial compliance, documentation, and records management.
- Support data security and coordinate vendor relationships.
- Handle trust reporting and interactions with trustees and beneficiaries.
- Evaluate and coordinate external advisors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in accounting or finance.
- MBA with finance focus strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in an operating company environment.
- Demonstrated success in roles with decision-making authority and accountability for financial outcomes.
- Demonstrated success in problem solving and collaborating with others.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and negotiation skills.
- Experience across multiple disciplines (finance, operations, investments, governance).
