We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist with proven hands-on experience with conversational programing to setting up, operate, and troubleshooting both CNC Lathes and CNC Mills.
Key Responsibilities
- Setup & Operation: Perform complete setups, tooling changes, and operation on multi-axis CNC Lathes and CNC Mills.
- Programming & Adjustments: Use conversational programing at the machine control panel; make necessary offset adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering prints, GD&T symbols, and job routings accurately.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges).
- Process Optimization: Select appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds to maximize productivity, tool life, and part finish.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine daily equipment maintenance (coolant checks, chip removal) and maintain a safe, organized workspace.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum [3] years of experience operating both CNC Lathes and CNC Mills in job shop environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and applying GD&T.
- Mastery of manual measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, indicators).
- Familiarity with controls such as Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or Siemens (preferred).
- Setup Ability: Ability to independently perform setup from setup sheets or engineering drawings without constant oversight.
- Physical & Work Ethic: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and maintain a high level of attention to detail and safety.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skill
- Experience with live-tooling lathes or multi-axis machining centers.
- Rigging, overhead crane, or material handling experience.
