Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including CNC lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential in ensuring efficient production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing technology, including Fanuc controls, electrical discharge machining, and CAM programming, contributing directly to the creation of high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machinery such as CNC lathes and milling machines with precision and efficiency.
- Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software to optimize machining processes.
- Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing.
- Perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify parts meet specifications.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance, tooling changes, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or minor repairs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, inspection results, and machine logs in compliance with quality standards.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes and mills; familiarity with Fanuc controls is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CAM programming, and blueprint reading.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, and general manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T specifications accurately.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters.
- Familiarity with tooling setup, hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and assembly procedures.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred for material handling tasks.
