Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Support the kitchen team in cooking a variety of menu items efficiently and accurately
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Ensure cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts to uphold safety standards in production
- Help with meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
- Follow all safety guidelines related to food production, equipment operation, and workplace safety protocols
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service environment, including restaurant or culinary settings
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Knowledge of menu planning and food preparation techniques
- Strong knife skills and slicing techniques essential for efficient prep work
- Understanding of food safety management practices and safe food handling procedures
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards serving guests and supporting colleagues
