Job Summary
Walker Lane Mining Company LLC is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Electrician to join our growing mining operation. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout the mine site. The ideal candidate will have experience working with industrial electrical systems and be committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and mine facilities
- Diagnose electrical issues and perform repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on crushers, conveyors, process plant equipment, motors, pumps, and facility electrical systems
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot electrical components using voltmeters, ammeters, meggers, and other diagnostic equipment
- Install conduit, control panels, motors, lighting systems, and electrical wiring
- Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, motor controls, and low-voltage control systems
- Complete field-level risk assessments and maintain a safe work environment
- Coordinate repairs to minimize equipment downtime and maximize plant availability
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to support production goals
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders
- Ensure compliance with all MSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3–5 years of industrial electrical experience in mining, manufacturing, aggregate, or heavy industrial environments preferred
- Experience with 480V three-phase electrical systems and motor controls
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs, instrumentation, and industrial control systems
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize work and respond to equipment breakdowns efficiently
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Must supply basic electrician hand tools
- Valid Driver's License required
Work Schedule
- Full-Time Position
- Rotating Day and Night Shifts
- Overtime as required to support operations
Work Conditions
- Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Exposure to dust, noise, moving equipment, vibration, and industrial hazards
- PPE required, including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, FR clothing, and steel-toe boots
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physical work throughout the shift
