The Role
We are seeking an experienced Yard Manager to lead daily operations, drive sales growth, and ensure exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, knowledge of building materials (especially lumber and related products), and the ability to manage both people and processes effectively.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily operations of the location, including sales, inventory, and logistics.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of yard staff and drivers.
- Manage inventory levels, purchasing, and supplier relationships.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow revenue and improve profitability.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business.
- Work closely with ownership on long-term planning and expansion.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of management experience (preferably in building materials, construction supply, or related industries).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven experience in inventory management and logistics.
- Ability to build relationships with contractors, builders, and vendors.
- Proficient with basic business software (Microsoft Office, inventory/POS systems).
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus for enhancing customer interactions.
