Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role is essential to maintaining efficient daily operations by safely moving, loading, and organizing materials and products. The ideal candidate will help ensure accurate inventory, timely order fulfillment, and seamless logistics by transporting goods between containers, racks, and shipping areas.
This position also includes cutting flooring samples, preparing shipments, and coordinating deliveries with carriers such as FedEx and UPS.
Flexible Schedule: 40 hours a week; occasional Saturdays
Hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm
Core Responsibilities
Material Handling
- Safely load and unload trucks and containers
- Transport materials to designated warehouse locations
- Relocate and consolidate inventory as needed
Inventory Management
- Accurately pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment
- Perform cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy
- Stack and organize materials efficiently
- Consolidate incoming shipments from Dallas, San Antonio, and overseas
Safety Compliance
- Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace
- Follow all safety protocols to protect team members and inventory
Operational Support
- Prepare pallets and verify outgoing shipments
- Assist with shipping and receiving documentation
- Communicate effectively with team members and management
Equipment Maintenance
- Keep forklift and equipment clean and fueled
- Identify and report maintenance or repair needs
Additional Support
- Provide backup support to other departments or sister companies during downtime
Duties
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo equipment safely and efficiently
- Inspect equipment before use and perform basic maintenance as needed
- Assist with order picking using warehouse systems
- Manage storage, stacking, and organization of materials
- Verify inbound and outbound shipments and maintain accurate records
- Cut flooring samples and prepare materials for distribution
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience operating forklifts or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse or distribution environment
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and material handling practices
- Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting and equipment care
- Experience in shipping & receiving, order picking, or distribution preferred
- Basic math skills for inventory tracking and accuracy
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physically demanding work consistently
Pay: $2,200.00 - $2,800.00 per month
