Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, physical activity, and social skills in accordance with educational standards and developmental best practices
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior management
- Plan engaging lesson plans
- Foster strong relationships with children to support their emotional well-being and individual growth trajectories
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings and written updates
- Support children with special needs by adapting activities and collaborating with specialists in early intervention and special education
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws, health and safety regulations, including first aid and CPR certifications
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings is essential
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development principles, classroom management, behavior management strategies, and early intervention techniques
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Certification in first aid and CPR required; ongoing professional development in childhood education preferred
- Familiarity with curriculum development, literacy education, standardized testing for early learners
- Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus
- Ability to manage classroom routines efficiently while fostering a nurturing environment focused on child welfare and safety
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
