The Design Engineers at Architectural Arts Millwork prepare the technical shop drawings and plans used to build our custom millwork projects using CAD software.
Essential Functions
- Handle complex designing and drafting assignments under minimal supervision.
- Work with Project Managers regarding accuracy, design, drafting standards and design documentation.
- Collaborate with Cabinet Makers to ensure coordination of design is maintained.
- Generate production programming that complies with company standards.
- Provide visual guidelines and show how to construct a product or structure.
- Include technical details and specify dimensions, materials, and procedures in the shop drawings.
- Generate submittal drawings that comply with company standards and adequately communicate our intentions.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, science, and engineering technology
- Solid background in CAD techniques
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical design skills
Education and Experience
- Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school highly recommended
- Bachelor’s Degree a plus
- Drafting experience a plus
- Construction or woodworking background helpful
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Requirements
- Regularly requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
