Shuman McCuskey Slicer PLLC, a growing regional civil litigation defense firm, seeks an experienced paralegal to work with attorneys in its Winchester, Virginia office. To apply, you must have a paralegal certification or college degree, experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal, good organizational and communication skills, and a good work ethic. We are particularly interested in you if you have experience working in a civil litigation firm in the recent past. Experience with Amicus and NetDocuments software is a plus. Responsibilities
- Manage and organize case files, pleadings, and discovery documents using legal research and document management tools.
- Conduct legal research, draft routine memos, and summarize information for civil litigation matters.
- Prepare and file court papers, coordinate with clients, experts, and court staff, and track deadlines.
- Support attorneys with trial preparation, witness interviews, and deposition logistics.
- Maintain accurate calendaring, invoicing, and administrative records; ensure compliance with procedural rules.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
