Commercial HVAC Service Technician
Location: Pittsburgh, PA | Full-Time | Field-Based
We are currently partnering with a well-established mechanical services organization to recruit an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys diagnosing complex systems, working independently in the field, and delivering high-quality service to commercial customers.
The Opportunity
As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of commercial HVAC systems. You’ll work directly with customers, respond to service calls, and play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and performance. This is a stable, long-term opportunity with consistent work and strong support from an experienced service team.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, split systems, chillers, boilers, air handlers, and related components
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency service calls
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control-related issues
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings, repairs, and system operation
- Complete service documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively at client sites
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards
- Collaborate with dispatch, project teams, and other technicians as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing commercial HVAC systems
- Technical Skills: Strong troubleshooting ability across mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems
- Familiarity with controls and building automation systems is a plus
Certifications:
- EPA Universal Certification required
- Additional HVAC or manufacturer certifications preferred
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Strong customer service and communication skills
