Apple Holler is seeking an experienced, dependable, and friendly Pony Ride Handler to provide safe, enjoyable pony rides for our guests. This position plays an important role in ensuring the well-being of our ponies while creating memorable experiences for visiting families.
Previous experience handling horses or ponies is required. Candidates must be confident working independently with equines and comfortable managing them around children and large crowds.
Responsibilities
- Safely lead ponies during children's rides.
- Assist children with mounting and dismounting.
- Monitor pony behavior and respond appropriately to ensure the safety of guests and animals.
- Groom, feed, water, and provide daily care for ponies.
- Clean riding areas and equipment.
- Perform basic health observations and report any concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pony ride area.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service to guests.
- Follow all animal welfare and safety procedures.
- Assist with other farm attractions or duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Required: Previous hands-on experience handling horses or ponies.
- Comfortable working independently with equines in a busy public setting.
- Strong understanding of safe horse handling practices and animal behavior.
- Friendly, patient, and professional with guests of all ages.
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe environment.
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and throughout Apple Holler's peak season.
