Job Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist to join our pediatric early intervention team. This position involves working in natural environments such as the child’s home, daycare, or community settings to provide therapy services to young children with developmental delays and special needs. It also involves assessments, consulting in person or on zoom with other team members. The Physical Therapist will evaluate each child’s needs, create individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with families and team members to support developmental progress and improve overall quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide physicaltherapy services to infants and young children with special needs and their families.
- Travel to the child’s home, daycare, or community setting (such as parks or libraries) to deliver services.
- Perform thorough evaluations to assess developmental, physical, sensory, and functional needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals based on evaluation results.
- Implement therapeutic activities to support participation in daily routines and developmental milestones.
- Collaborate and consult with other healthcare and early intervention team members in person or virtually.
- Educate caregivers on strategies to support their child’s development between visits.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with program and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed on current physical therapy practices and evidence-based interventions for young children with developmental delays and disabilities.
Qualifications
- Master’s or doctoral degree in PhysicalTherapy from an accredited program.
- Current state license or eligibility for licensure as an Physical Therapist.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children ages birth to 5 years with special needs.
- Experience with early intervention, developmental delays, autism, or related conditions is strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with families and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
- Commitment to ethical practice and ongoing professional growth.
