American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Observation) travel position in Lafayette, IN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

Hospital-based Observation unit with 16 beds
-
Patient population includes short-stay, mostly ambulatory patients pending test results for inpatient status change, patients receiving IV antibiotics, pre-surgical patients, and chest pain rule-out cases

Patient ratio of 1:5

Equipment used includes bladder scanner, EKG machine, Vein light, and VS machine

EMR: Epic
-
Day shift, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (12-hour shifts, 3x/week); charge nurses may have an adjusted start time of 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM
-
4 weekend shifts required every 6 weeks
-
No on-call requirements

Floating required to Med/Surg-like units

13-week contract

Active IN or compact RN license required

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Med/Surg or a similar specialty

Med/Surg experience preferred

US Social Security Number required

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

EKG reading experience and leadership experience are preferred

An on-site EKG exam is required after clearance for RN Med/Surg positions at this location

Scrub color required: Navy Blue; hoodies and t-shirts are not permitted
